Built from experience, risk, and belief
The Source was built by betting on experience, education, and the clients who believed enough to follow from the very beginning.
Built on formal training in kinesiology and athletic training.
The first group followed when it was time to move on and start fresh.
The client base grew fast through hard work, trust, and consistency.
The Source opened in March 2003 and is still going.
How it started
The story matters here, so it should stay personal, direct, and real.
From frustration to ownership
I was working for a private personal training gym and I was fed up with the owners. They were stuck in their old ways and were not open to new ideas, equipment, or methods. They also had no educational background in rehabilitation.
I was getting ready to graduate from Cal State Northridge in 2002 with two degrees, one in Kinesiology and the other in Athletic Training. I always had the dream of opening my own gym, but at that point I had no real clue how to get started.
When I told my clients I was getting ready to move on, they told me, wherever you go, we go. That changed everything. I left with 10 of my best clients, rented gym space from a private gym, and a year later grew from 10 clients to 30. That was the moment the dream started becoming real.
I kept working, kept saving, and my clientele grew to 65 clients. At that point I had built the client base and saved enough money to take the risk and open my own gym. I opened in March 2003, and I am still in business to this day.
The numbers behind the story
What The Source was built on
A gym like this is built on education, trust, and putting in the work long before the doors open.
Education
The foundation came from real study, real training, and understanding how the body works.
Trust
The first clients followed because they believed in the work. That kind of trust says everything.
Commitment
The gym came from years of risk, saving, growth, and putting in the work until opening the doors became real.
